The "Daddy Gang" is going global.
Alex Cooper, host of the highly-ranked podcast "Call Her Daddy" and media entrepreneur, will anchor a live-streamed reaction show on Peacock called "Watch with Alex Cooper" at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
"Alex is the perfect host for this interactive Olympics viewing experience on Peacock," NBC Olympics executive producer and president Molly Solomon said in a statement. "'Watch with Alex Cooper' is designed to put the viewer in the room with her and her friends as they watch the athletes of Team USA take on the world. It should be a blast!"
Cooper will broadcast the show from Paris with guests in a picture-in-picture view of the live action – such as soccer, gymnastics or basketball – while reacting to social media and fans watching.
The show is another example of the shoulder programming NBCUniversal is attaching to its streaming service during the Olympics. For example, the "Gold Zone" whiparound show will stream action for 10 hours per day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Peacock.
"Call Her Daddy" averages millions of downloads per episode, and the vast majority of the listeners are women. Cooper recently launched a media company, Trending, and its subsidiary, The Unwell Network, which has signed famous social media creators, such as Alix Earle. Cooper played soccer at Boston University.
"The chance to cheer on the world's greatest athletes at the Olympics is beyond thrilling,” Cooper said in a statement. “I am so excited to be partnering with NBC and Peacock to present this interactive watch-party format for the first time from the Olympics, designed to bring audiences even closer to the excitement of in Paris. We are going to have so much fun.”
NBC has not been shy about adding celebrities of all types to its coverage. Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning will help Mike Tirico with hosting duties, and Snoop Dogg will return as well after going viral during the Tokyo Olympics.
According to the announcement, Cooper will record "Call Her Daddy" from Paris during the Olympics.
